What does a home care assistant do? A lot! The tasks are varied and can include among other things:

• Personal care and support in daily routines, such as hygiene and meals
• Social support through presence and activities that promote health and well-being
• Support in care and nursing efforts in collaboration with colleagues and licensed staff
• Observations of changes in the user's health and contact with responsible staff when necessary
• Documentation and work based on implementation plans.

Of course, we offer a thorough introduction based on your own prerequisites. You will have time to learn the job step by step, shadow experienced colleagues, receive clear routines, and have the opportunity to ask questions. We want to give you good conditions to get into the role and feel secure in your tasks!

In Partille Municipality, cleaning services at users' homes are performed by an external service company.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Category B driver's license

Merits:

• Previous experience working in home care or another area within elderly care

You need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

We are looking for someone who can quickly read situations and adapt to changed circumstances. Since a lot of exciting things are happening in elderly care, we also want you to be someone who views change positively, easily absorbs new information and new ways of working, and shares both successes and setbacks—that is how we get better and develop! Furthermore, you have the mentality that problems are there to be solved and actively work to find solutions when needed. Last but not least, we want you to be excellent at collaborating!

Good to know

To be invited to an interview, a passing grade in Swedish 1 at the upper secondary level or equivalent must be presented. If this is missing, you will be asked to take a digital language test.

Upon offer of employment, an acceptable extract from the Police's criminal record and suspicion register must be presented. For this position, the extract is required for work in the home with elderly persons.

Your new workplace

The home care service belongs to the Care and Nursing Administration, the Elderly Care Department, and has 145 employees. We have three home care areas: Centrum, Björndammen, and Sävedalen. Regardless of the area, you will become part of a warm, competent, and solution-focused team where we work closely with colleagues and users.

Working hours vary between day and evening as well as weekends. Common working hours are 07:00-15:30, 07:00-14:00, 14:00-22:30, 15:30-22:30. We apply a 37-hour week for our staff working days and evenings.

As an employee in home care, you will have the opportunity to develop through the career path model FAVO (More Employees in Care and Nursing). The model simplifies and makes it more attractive for our employees to increase their competence in the area and further educate themselves. There is also mentorship linked to the career path model that you as an employee can take part in, with the goal of motivating movement between the roles of assistant, care assistant, auxiliary nurse, and specialist auxiliary nurse.
